Several of our customers have asked "Is the new poly jet foot is worth having?"

The answer is "it depends."

If you never use your boat, you don't need one.  If you always run in deep water, you don't need one.  However, if there's the slightest possibility you'll run in shallow water (where rocks, logs and other obstacles lurk), well, it depends on how many times you want to cry.

The attached picture compares a brand new poly jet foot with the prototype poly (new one is lighter, prototype is darker)--the prototype was slammed into rocks at least nine times during the season, and was rebuilt at a cost of approximately $160.  For purposes of comparison, a normal aluminum foot would likely need to be replaced several times (at a cost of approximately $500 each time just for the part) during a season of such abuse.

So in answer to the question, do the math!

You can spend a little more and get the poly (buy once, cry once) or go with the standard aluminum (and probably cry multiple times).

Regardless, we can provide you with your choice--give us a call or stop in today!
