Alweld Powered by Yamaha Runs Norton Sound to Unalakleet

One of our Alweld customers came up with a creative means of getting his boat home--in this case, his home is Unalakleet, Alaska.  As many of our bush customers realize, shipping costs can be exorbitant.  This customer was determined to "beat the system," and did, saving several thousands of dollars and simultaneously embarking on a memorable Alaska adventure.  Rather than shipping his custom-built Alweld to Anchorage and then "around the horn" of the Bristol Bay area, he had it shipped on the Yukon River with Ruby Marine to the village of Emmonak--where he disassembled his boat trailer, loaded it into his new Alweld, and took off across Norton Sound toward home.  He and his wife's cousin fought changing tides and rough weather to make it home to Unalakleet safely.

I can't tell from the picture if the kids are more excited to see Dad home or more excited to see their new Alweld!
